Brugada Triger: Painful Stimuli???

Postby Laurabeth » Tue Jan 06, 2015 5:24 pm

Hi, I'm new here and looking for help concerning my son and Brugada. He is currently awaiting a procainamide challenge test after multiple syncopal episodes that warranted trips to the Emergency Room for evaluation. Although he has experienced syncopal and near syncopal episodes as well as dizziness without an identifed trigger....it seems that most of his syncopal episodes follow a painfull stimuli. For example, he caught his finger in a closing door, he had a sharp pain, but the pain subsided, but as soon as he stood to walk he passed out. Last week he hit his knee cap on a bench in a restaurant, not too hard........took a few steps....sat down.....and passed out. His syncopal episodes are brief, but he is very fatigued afterwards.

Have any of you ever had Brugada related syncopal episodes following a painful stimuli? Thank you all for any insight.
